Dorset County Council is subsidising the 212 bus service between Dorchester, Maiden Newton and Yeovil from Monday (26 March) to maintain a modified service while the long-term situation is reviewed.

The service is under threat because South West Coaches withdrew its commercially-operated service.  Councillors agreed to fund the Yeovil-based company to run a modified Monday to Friday service until 8 June.

Saturday services and other 212 services operated by Damory Coaches are unaffected.

The modified South West Coaches timetable will run a broadly similar service between Dorchester and Cattistock with some changes to the timing of journeys.  There will be fewer services for Bradford Peverell and no services for Evershot or Holywell.  For more service details, please visit www.travelinesw.com or telephone on 0871 200 22 33.

The council’s Cabinet will decide whether to continue funding the service beyond 8 June at its May meeting.
